A

An antonym is a word that has a meaning that is the opposite of the meaning of another word, for example “hot” is the antonym of “cold”.
:
An article is nonfiction writing such as found in a newspaper or magazine.
:
Attitude is an opinion or a feeling about something.
:
The writer of a piece of text (e.g., story, poem, newspaper article) is called the author.

:
A booklet providing a short description or directions about something is called a brochure.

C

:
A cause and effect question requires an answer that shows what made something happen (cause) or the result of something that happened (effect).
:
A character is one of the people in a story or play.
:
You confirm when you provide evidence to show that a prediction or answer is accurate.
:
Criteria are the standards by which something is judged.

D

:
Details are the small pieces of information included in a text. They are sometimes called supporting details.
